Catching up... again...

Sometimes I feel like this blogging thing is just a continual game of catchup for me. The good thing is that I should be starting laundry right now while Avery's asleep, but I need to catch up on the blog so laundry will have to wait! :)
Since I've waited so long, these pictures are definitely in no particular order. This first one is my favorite though; Daddy brought home a big present to his little Valentine and she loved it!We went to go visit Clay at the office one day and he has this treasure chest with toys to give to his patients. Needless to say, this picture was taken as Avery was digging into the treasure. It's her favorite part of the office (besides seeing her dad of course).
Thought I would throw this one in for my mom. It's water with lemon, not DP, but Avery loves having her own Sonic drink!
Avery is learning how to feed herself. Sticky foods that don't fall off the utensil when turned upside down are my new favorites. She's not too bad at it...She gets a little overzealous with the stabbing and likes to get quite a big bite before sticking it in her mouth.
Just a sweet picture of bathtime. I'd love to get some pictures of her in her bubble baths, but she is terrified of them. She won't sit down in the tub unless she can see the bottom. I know GayGay appreciates that!
The other day was a beautiful day so we invited Kellan and Parker to come play outside with us. It wasn't cold at all, Avery was just insistent on wearing her hat. I love these faces that the kids are making here.
We gave the kids some suckers and they were a hit! Don't tell Uncle Clint or Pawpaw, but suckers are one of Avery's favorite treats!
Parker wanted a sucker too.
Playing in the neighborhood water runoff... very sanitary I'm sure!Avery found a milk jug lid and would set it in the water and watch it float down the drainage ditch then run to go catch it. The game finally ended when she hit a small patch of moss and busted her tailbone a little.
The pain went away quickly when I asked if she needed to go inside to get Paci and her blanket, Cue. She apparently decided it wasn't worth leaving the water for.
Feeling big in Daddy's boots.
We had a fun season watching the North Lamar Panther basketball games this winter. Avery and Roselyn always showed lots of school spirit! And showed their basketball sense of style courtesy of Uncle Clint and Aunt P.
Just a sweet picture
Avery had a bout with the RSV bug several weeks ago... it was a mild case, but she had to do breathing treatments anyway. I thought this looked a little funny. She didn't think it was very funny and the mask only lasted for about a minute.
Well, I've come to the end of my pictures. We'll post again sooner or later (I'd count on the later though and then be pleasantly surprised if it was sooner!)

Mac Christmas

I realize Christmas was close to a month ago, but I'm just getting around to processing pictures. This year we spent Christmas with my family and it ended up being a very special one for us for several reasons: One, my brother Trevor finished his tour of duty in Iraq and got to spend 3 weeks, including Christmas, with us. He is actually leaving for Alaska today where he is stationed so prayers for safe travel and an easy settling back in to the army life would be wonderful. Second, this Christmas was special because Santa came to see all of the McWilliams grandkids at Pop and Nana's house this year. And last, Avery's great-great-grandmother (yes, you read right, that's 2 "great"s) was there at the house too to witness all the Santa fun! What an incredible blessing! Here she is enjoying Christmas morning with my mom.Christmas morning happened in stages... Gabriel and Sierra were the first to wake up by a long shot. They are 6 and 3, so they've got the Santa thing down pat and were up at the crack of dawn. They had written letters to Santa to tell him where they would be Christmas morning and Gabriel was very concerned about the fire still burning in the fireplace when he went to bed Christmas Eve. Santa made it in unharmed apparently and left some great gifts for them.

The Davidson children were the next to wake up. Parker had no idea what was going on, but was very content to sit and watch the chaos that morning. Kellan, on the other hand, didn't quite understand who had delivered the gifts or how they got there, but he seemed unconcerned about small details and thoroughly enjoyed what Santa had left him.
And last, but certainly not least in our book, Avery made her debut to Christmas morning... bright-eyed and bushy-tailed... sort of. Here she is just waking up trying to figure out what all the commotion is outside her bedroom.
The the good sports of the morning, up early with everyone else, Aunt Brenna and Uncle Trevor! A big round of applause for these two historically late sleepers. And just what did Santa bring Avery? Here she is with all her loot; her big present was her table and chairs and tea set. I wasn't sure if she would understand the tea set yet. I was very mistaken. I do wish she would learn to climb on the chairs without falling though.
She did get to eat a couple candies from her stocking before breakfast... that was a big hit.

Telling Parker about all the stuff Santa brought.

We got to stay at my parents' for several days after Christmas and really had a wonderful time with everyone. Here are just a few random pictures from then. All the Mac cousins together

This fall and winter have been incredibly fun so far! We are in our new house and Avery is loving all the festivities that come along with the seasons. She did have a bit of a rough time several weeks ago when she fractured her right arm (no cast needed thankfully!) and then immediately came down with a nice case of the croup. Needless to say, she got a little pampering for about a week... you know, lots of one-on-one time with mom, being read as many books as she wanted, being rocked in the middle of the night for as long as she wanted and getting to eat meals in the livingroom while watching PraiseBaby DVDs. I'm still battling the spoiling we gave her that week. :)
Here she is during that time watching PraiseBaby... she's normally only allowed one a day, if that, but that week... well, she was in charge. Life's tough, huh?
Her recovery was quick. These little guys can bounce back from anything! Avery decided it was time to get outside and be helpful. She's helping her Daddy prune the cannas back for the winter. Just some cute pictures
You can see her teeth here a little. We're up to 6 now; progress is slow and steady. :)
Helping Mommy with the laundry. Her gift is definitely unloading the hamper. The Captain and Aunt Tara came to visit with Kellan and Parker. They're moving to Paris in January!!!! We are so excited! Take a look at the rolls on this sweet girl! I'm very sad Avery missed this stage so I'm enjoying it vicariously through Parker. :)Kellan and Avery getting clean after a long day of playing. Not sure about the look on Kellan's face.We had Christmas with the Spencer family a weekend early this year. Pawpaw is reading a Christmas story to the girls on "Christmas Eve".
Avery loves the Christmas trees! We can touch, but only with one finger (surprisely it works for both Avery and Roselyn most of the time!)Avery helping in the kitchen with Christmas Dinner. She found a hat and some cookies in her stocking at Pawpaw and Grandmommy's house. I'd say they're pretty proud grandparents, wouldn't you?
This was just too cute to pass up! Don't you just want to squeeze him?
You're seeing right... the focus is on Kanyon's new "J's". Yes, you're reading correctly Kanyon has his own Michael Jordan basketball shoes now too. In fact, all 3 Spencer babies have their own. Coming from a baseball family myself, I really don't understand, but to each his own! :) It is pretty funny to see them on. This is Avery "Christmas Day" at Brad and Gwen Ann's. She and Roselyn racked up the presents and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
I'll end with a sweet picture of Avery in her Christmas present from Pawpaw and Grandmommy. She loves riding around in her wagon!
