I realize Christmas was close to a month ago, but I'm just getting around to processing pictures. This year we spent Christmas with my family and it ended up being a very special one for us for several reasons: One, my brother Trevor finished his tour of duty in Iraq and got to spend 3 weeks, including Christmas, with us. He is actually leaving for Alaska today where he is stationed so prayers for safe travel and an easy settling back in to the army life would be wonderful. Second, this Christmas was special because Santa came to see all of the McWilliams grandkids at Pop and Nana's house this year. And last, Avery's great-great-grandmother (yes, you read right, that's 2 "great"s) was there at the house too to witness all the Santa fun! What an incredible blessing! Here she is enjoying Christmas morning with my mom.

Christmas morning happened in stages... Gabriel and Sierra were the first to wake up by a long shot. They are 6 and 3, so they've got the Santa thing down pat and were up at the crack of dawn. They had written letters to Santa to tell him where they would be Christmas morning and Gabriel was very concerned about the fire still burning in the fireplace when he went to bed Christmas Eve. Santa made it in unharmed apparently and left some great gifts for them.

The Davidson children were the next to wake up. Parker had no idea what was going on, but was very content to sit and watch the chaos that morning. Kellan, on the other hand, didn't quite understand who had delivered the gifts or how they got there, but he seemed unconcerned about small details and thoroughly enjoyed what Santa had left him.

And last, but certainly not least in our book, Avery made her debut to Christmas morning... bright-eyed and bushy-tailed... sort of. Here she is just waking up trying to figure out what all the commotion is outside her bedroom.

The the good sports of the morning, up early with everyone else, Aunt Brenna and Uncle Trevor! A big round of applause for these two historically late sleepers.

And just what did Santa bring Avery?

Here she is with all her loot; her big present was her table and chairs and tea set.

I wasn't sure if she would understand the tea set yet. I was very mistaken. I do wish she would learn to climb on the chairs without falling though.

She did get to eat a couple candies from her stocking before breakfast... that was a big hit.

Telling Parker about all the stuff Santa brought.
